This past Sunday I was heading back to the Anchorage Marina and saw some
brand new flagging catfish juglines laying out in the water. As I passed,
I recognized the jugs as Rednecks flagging
juglines.
When I made it back to the marina, I was greeted by my lake conroe boat
slip neighbor. Man, he was proud of his newly purchased juglines.
As the week progressed, I kept seeing these juglines at various places
around the lake. I kept getting updates on their catfish catches, and offered
to help out with a little "OWJT", On The Water Jugline Training
I met up with Cameran and his mother late Thursday night @ 10pm.
After a little safety orientation, on the juglines we headed out to an
undisclosed location on Lake Conroe.
After we got the jugs baited and set out, Camerans first fish last night,
was an 8 lb blue catfish.
We kept working the fishing jugs and came across one was sitting
really low in the water.
As Cameran was pulling it in, I heard the famous, "Oh yes, This is
a fish". After getting it netted and in the boat, the high fives were
on. This big blue catfish weighed in at 34.7 Lbs
This was Cameran's first Catfish C.P.R, which measured in at
47.25 inches. Which qualified for T.P.W.D's Catch and Release Award. The
application was accomplished, and submitted to TPWD and he should be getting
his award very soon.
Cameran's Limit, It was a good night catfishing on lake conroe.
