Fished Saturday and Sunday with the lake on a rise. Looks like it came up about 2 ft. Fished the timber in 30 ft of water with punch bait. Caught our limit both days. Big fish yesterday was a 12 lb blue caught on a micro spinning reel on a 8 ft crappie rod. I used the same rig today for a whole lot of fun. Saturday I fished with Ira and today Ira and Hooker. Hooker ended up with a cooler full of nice kitties and I still had about that many to clean when I got home. Ira took those for a fish fry later this month but with him also geting about 100 lbs of crawfish I don't mind furnishing a few kitties.
I know the blues are in shallow water right now but I was all alone in the deep water fishing a channel that goes through the woods. There was a steady stream of shad running this channel with the kitties following.
