I just got a call from the office at Fayette County Lake. They stated they do not have a fish cleaning station, so no one is allowed to clean fish in the park.
I normally carry a table top for my truck tailgate, extra cooler for the heads, water and bucket for the filets, fish heads back out into the lake or to my deer lease when I get home.
People have told me they clean fish on picnic tables and throw the fish back into the lake, on the edge of the boat ramp, etc. I am going to look forward to seeing if signs go up saying "NO CLEANING FISH IN THE PARK" and how the fines will be going up.
WHAT?????
They accused me of dumping some fish heads near the park, excuse me, I never dumped fish heads near the park...I guess someone else must fish for catfish besides me, if you can imagine that.
So, in the future, I will be required to drive outside of the park, I guess onto a side road and clean fish for myself or for my clients. Now, if every person that catches a fish out of that lake go outside the park to clean their fish, I wonder where they will put the fish heads???
I made the mistake of giving the filets a client did not want to the park attendants. Sometimes it just does not pay to be nice, most times it does.
I am just posting this so everyone in the world will know that if you go to Fayette County and clean your fish in the park grounds you could get into trouble. |
