About

My name is Chad Ferguson and I am the founder of the Texas Catfishing Resource. I started the Texas Catfishing Resource in 2001 to provide a place for people to share information and talk about Texas Catfishing and catching Texas Catfish.

WhiskerKitty.com was the first website I ever started and due to my inexperience it quickly became difficult to manage. Around 2005 and 2006 I did an update on the website and cleaned it up some and attempted to make it easier to navigate, and then had some major health issues so I had to take a break from running the website and I quit updating it.

In 2010 I decided that I wanted to start sharing all of my catfishing knowledge that I have learned during my years catfishing and as a professional catfish guide, so I launched Learn To Catch Catfish because I always felt that some people stayed away from Whiskerkitty.com because they were not from Texas. The catfishing information that I share is not specific to Texas and they are catfishing tips, tricks and techniques that will work for catfishing anywhere, not just in Texas.

After having such a huge success with Learn To Catch Catfish in only 90 days, I started getting questions about WhiskerKitty.com The Texas Catfishing Resource and what was going to happen here. I had planned on just leaving it online and not making any changes but after careful consideration I decided that I would redesign WhiskerKitty.com and make it easier to navigate (and better looking) and would start adding Texas specific catfishing information to it.

I will still be using Learn To Catch Catfish for the majority of my catfishing tips and tricks, and WhiskerKitty.com will be focusing primarily on Texas Catfishing news, fishing reports, guide profiles and information and stuff that is specific to fishing for Texas Catfish.

In addition to blogging at Learn To Catch Catfish and The Texas Catfishing Resource and I am a professional catfish guide in North Texas, owning and operating North Texas Catfish Guide Service. I also manufacture catfish bait called Redneck’s Catfish Bait Soap and Redneck’s Juglines for jug fishing catfish. I am a Texas native who has been fishing for catfish all of my life. All of my business operate under the name of Catfishing 247 Networks.
