Sorry that I have been tardy with the report. We have been very busy. The fish are still turned on, and the bite is strong. The water temp. is in the mid to high 80s. The humidity has been tough, but night fishing has helped with the heat. The cats have pretty well spawned, and are really biting well. Some blues over 10 lbs. have been taken. Channels in numbers have been the predominate catch. I am awaiting the fall bite, and cooler weather with anticipation. If you want to get into a mess of Kittys, give us a call, or e-mail us. Good Fishing!! Ron Jones

We found the fish in 4 to 6 feet of water. The first trip was during the day. The other trips were at night due to the boat traffic on the lake. We caught and released limits each trip. The Sure Shot accounted for the largest fish of the weekend. A 11 pound blue. The lake is 2 feet above normal pool, and the fishing is great. With the tempratures rising, we will be switching to night trips very soon. If you want to try "Pines", give us a call. Good Fishing!! Fish-Tales

The fishing was really great! We limited out both days. The fish were nice eating size channels. We had a good rain sunday night, and I am expecting to have a little run off coming into the lake. In June we will start booking some trips on the Sabine River. The Sabine produces some monster blue cats. Until next time! Good Fishing!! Fish-Tales

The fish are moving shallow. They really have on the feed bag in preparation for the spawn. We caught mainly channels in the 2 to 6 pound range. I an still trying to locate some flatheads around some known hang outs. The bite on "Pines" is really starting to hit the spring peak. Good Fishing!! Fish-Tales

All the fish caught hit really hard and fast in the shallow water, Tip.... Don't set that rod down even for a second. Had to chase one in the water but I did get the fish back too.

Qty_Caught: 15 to 25
Additional_comments: Thought I would try some of the flats up in Copeland Creek this week. The fish are starting to move in on the flats, but are very scattered at this time. We caught fish, but the action was not as fast as I like. The livers proved to be the bait that the fish wanted. We didn't take any hogs, just nice pan sized fish running from 2 to 4 pounds. The fish should be moved shallow by mid March. There is still alot of new water coming into the lake. Good Fishing! Fish-Tales

Additional_comments: The water is still frowing into the lake on the main water shed. The cats there are still lyind in the bushes. Drift your bait to a bush , and you will find a fish. The Copeland Creek area is producing some nice stringers on some of the larger flats. There is alot of new water entering the lake at this time. With over 6 inchs of rain the night of the 7th, I think that we will see more new water enter the lake this week. Good Fishing! Fish-Tales
