Fished 4 days during this period with excellent results. Had limits 3 days and 13 on the other (short day), with kickers of 15 fish between 3-8 lbs. Fishing has been best during the heat of the day, starting at 10 AM the bite would get better. I haven't fished past 2 PM, but they were still biting when I left.

Fished 7 days during this period with mixed results, depending entirely on the wind. When the wind did not blow, I caught 5-10 catfish with all being 12"-15". When there was a good breeze, I caught 20-25 catfish with most in the 15"-18" range with approximately 15 between 3-8 lbs. Best bite was in the middle of the channel from Crappie Cove to Indian Creek, and didn't bite good until 10 AM (when it starts getting hot). I got a report that drifting was good late in the day and into the evening, when there is a breeze.

I quit counting at 25, all good sized fish, many in the 3-4 lb range, caught one 9.5 pound channel cat , bite was very light, they were not even moving the rod tip. All fish were caught in a 2 hour time frame after dark.

Catfishing 7/12 was bad, there wasn't any wind and couldn't find any fish to cooperate. On 7/13 at the Fort Anglers Club tourney there where very few catfish caught, there was absolutely no wind to drift with. Everyone weighed in lots of sand bass, with the winner weighing in 20.74 lbs., with a 15 fish limit of sand bass and 1 catfish. On 7/15 fishing was better when the wind started blowing, between 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM I caught 14 catfish, with 1 11 lbs. and 2 3-4 lbers, in the Oakwood Harbour area. Now if it would quit raining (7/16) I would try to catch some more, oh well, we are never satisfied.

Fished a friends boat dock on the south end these two days so I did not have to get out on the water with the "holiday crazies". Thursday night I could not keep the bait in the water. They were hitting faster than I could bait, both blues and channels in the 2-3 pound range, all caught in about 2 foot of water. There was several big 20+ poound blues rolling on the rocks feeding as well. Saturday night (following heavy rains on Friday), same spot, very slow, lot's of bites but only caught dinks all night, and very few of them.

Fishing for the last week overall has been fairly good with an average of 10-15 catfish caught with 1 or 2 over 3 lbs. Nearly all have been channel cats, the blue cats have dissappeared I haven't caught blues like I did earlier this year. The results depended on the wind a whole lot. It seems there is no in-between, it is either slick or whitecapping. The best areas seem to be the Lakeview Marina area. I haven't fished any shallow water(Indian Creek 14') but it should be good shallow in the nighttime. The Fort Worth Anglers Club has a 3-string tournament(catfish, sand bass and crappie) every 2nd Saturday for members it only cost $8. It only costs $25 per year to belong and you can save that &5-$10 launch fee that the marinas charge. Our next tournament is the 13th, you can call the FWAC at 817-444-4212 for details. Have a good week on the lake.

Explored this area of lake -- (fairly new to me), overcast in morning, clear skies after 11 am. 5-10 mph SE wind. Good conditions but only caught small channels. Walnut creek channel to main lake has some interesting fishing spots but I couldn't get any big fish to bite. Mainly fished on bottom (drifting) with one line 5' off bottom for blues (6" shad).

Fishing had been slow prior to the last 2 days for me. Drifted areas between FWAC and Indian Creek with fish being caught in all areas in between. I caught 22 on 6/13 with 5 being in the 4-5 lb. range. I caught a limit on 6/14 with largest being 6 lbs. There was a fairly equal split between channel and blue cats, with 1 4 lb. flathead. These where the best 2 days for drifting, the wind was never too high or too still. Overall fishing was good.

Water ranged from 40' & clear at Boat Club, to stained & 25' at Old Ranch, to muddy &15' at Indian Creek. Best bite was at Boat Club area in deep water. Wind was out of the North and Gusting, so I fished areas out of the wind as much as I could. Hopefully the wind will start to slow to less than whitecaps soon. Good fishing to ya.

Worked every inch of the river and did not even get a bite. First trip there in a LONG time, water is a mess, stumps and fallen logs everywhere made difficult fishing, could not get to feeder creek below the main spillway where fishing is best due to fallen timber. My advice is write this area off until someone does some MAJOR work out here. If you want to fish the spillway feeder from the main Eagle Mountain spillway have to enter from Lake Worth. Danny at vances said that they were getting down there "have to get a good running start and hit that log, pop your outboard up to make it over", Redneck says, not with two 250+ lb bubbas and all their gear, no way!

Area near the main island and up around Indian Creek. Chum was effective in concentrating the cats but bite was slow and fish were not very aggressive. Water was 68 degrees around the island and 73 degrees on the North end (but the water was only around 6 foot deep at the deepest part on the North end of the lake.
